APD3210H: Advanced Multivariate Statistical Modeling in Education and Psychology

This advanced statistics course is designed to equip graduate students and researchers with a deep understanding of multivariate statistical modeling techniques, with a special emphasis on applications in educational and psychological research. Students will explore and apply a range of statistical approaches to model complex, latent, and longitudinal phenomena. Through a combination of theoretical discussions, hands-on practice, and real-data applications, students will learn to critically evaluate, specify, estimate, interpret, and report advanced multivariate statistical modeling approaches. A strong emphasis is placed on conceptual understanding, model evaluation, and interpretability over computation. Students are welcome to bring their projects to apply techniques to empirical data. Students are welcomed to use computational software such as Mplus, R, and STATA.
