INF2217H: Designing UX for Extended Reality Systems
This course introduces theories and tools to design for extended reality (XR), including virtual (VR), augmented (AR), and mixed reality (MR) systems and applications. It prepares students with user experience design techniques to prototype, evaluate and critique these environments. The course overviews embodied interaction techniques across core extended reality modalities such as handheld, wearable, and projected displays, and provides students with an understanding of the design implications of these approaches for extended reality UX. Students will explore prototyping methods for designing extended reality applications, and study evaluation techniques for these experiences. Students will also apply a critical lens to XR applications to understand and evaluate their potential impact on social practices, culture, and society.
This course can be used to fulfil the "Technical" Professional Requirement.
