JPE1452H: Electrical and Electromagnetic Methods

Resistivity, induced polarization, self-potential, and electromagnetic methods are commonly used for mineral exploration and environmental surveys. Students will learn the theory and application of Maxwell's equations on which these methods are based, and apply this understanding to analyzing and interpreting data acquired with these methods. Geophysicists use these methods to image the Earth to depths ranging from several metres to tens of kilometres.
