LAW1005H: LLM Capstone Project (Term)

The LLM Capstone Project is a culminating academic experience that invites students to demonstrate a sophisticated, graduate-level mastery of a discrete area of law or a significant legal issue through rigorous inquiry, critical analysis, and original contribution. The capstone is designed to accommodate diverse professional trajectories and intellectual approaches, allowing students to showcase their expertise through both traditional and non-traditional forms of scholarly and applied legal work.

Rather than limiting students to a conventional research paper or project, the capstone emphasizes depth of understanding, methodological soundness, and meaningful engagement with law in practice, policy, or theory. Students are encouraged to pursue projects that align with their professional interests, workplace challenges, or emerging legal developments, provided that the project reflects sustained legal research, analytical rigour, and an awareness of the broader legal, institutional, and normative context.
