One of the main challenges in precision medicine is the selection of the therapeutic strategy that will benefit the most to each individual patient. With the advent of high-throughput profiling technologies, more and more data can be generated to deeply characterize the molecular state of cancer cells and the phenotypes resulting from drug treatment both in vitro and in vivo. This course will be composed of a series of lectures on the key topics related to drug discovery and development. The goal of this course is to provide students with a translational view of drug development, from basic research to clinical implementation. The students are expected to learn about the biological, computational, and clinical aspects of the development of cancer therapeutics and their associated biomarkers (companion tests).
