MIE1768H: Mechatronics in Automotive Applications 2

This advanced level course builds on the foundations laid down in the Mechatronics in Automotive Applications 1 course and focuses on simulation and analysis at the system level, as well as interactions between actuator and controller in their environment.

Automotive electronics hardware: Advanced design and analysis of subsystems for signal processing and for the control of electromechanical actuators used in an automotive environment, including analyzing the effects of component tolerance and manufacturing considerations on the behaviour and reliability of electronic controllers used in signal processing and the control of actuators.

Automotive electronics software: Code architecture creation from application and device behaviour, incorporating functions for control and device protection. Programming of simple modules to condition signals and control electromechanical actuators incorporating feedback.

Automotive product validation: Creation of validation plans for electromechanical subsystems, including validation to customer specific requirements, as well as the creation of test plans and test sequences to validate critical interfaces.

Advanced simulation and modelling used in the automotive industry: Use of FEA, circuit, and magnetic simulation software to analyze components at the system level, including control system formulation and analysis.
