Increasingly, qualitative modes of inquiry are used in health and social science research to better understand health, illness, and health care delivery. This course is designed to provide students with an introductory understanding of the philosophical foundations, approaches, and methods associated with qualitative research, and to acquaint students with critical issues and debates among qualitative researchers. This course will enhance students' capacities to understand, evaluate, and utilize qualitative research in nursing and health sciences, and will contribute to their development for advanced nursing practice.
