OCT1183Y: Occupational Therapy Fieldwork l

This seven‑week (approximately 225‑hour) full‑time course places students in approved fieldwork sites for most of the program (150 hours), supported by in‑person and online learning that complements their clinical experience. Clinical teaching is provided by faculty, clinicians, and registered occupational therapists serving as preceptors. Students will work in diverse settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centres, schools, and community agencies, where they will encounter client issues that influence occupational participation.

Throughout the course, students begin applying theoretical knowledge and developing core OT competencies through a mix of clinical, online, and in‑person learning activities. These activities are designed to target specific competencies and support students' growth as emerging practitioners. Students attend their placement four days per week, with additional structured learning scheduled across all five weekdays. Some placements may include evening or weekend hours, and any variations in scheduling will be detailed in the placement offer.
