This new module course will explore the health impacts of pervasive toxicants — such as pesticides, plastics, perfumes, and petrochemicals — through a framework known as SEAM (Sources, Effects on health, Assessment, and Management). By integrating knowledge from Health Sciences, Toxicology, Environmental Studies, and Public Health, this course will equip students with the expertise needed to understand and begin to address complex environmental health challenges.

Delivery of elective material will largely be through remote asynchronous delivery. This course will include recorded modules featuring leading experts in the field, and experiential learning opportunities, including e-cases/virtual simulations. Online drop-in sessions to discuss course material and address questions. The plan is to have one session for each unit, meaning a student would have opportunity to discuss material in 4 possible sessions over the duration of the course.
