PSL1080H: Advanced Topics: Investigative Developmental Physiology

This course represents an excellent opportunity to develop skills in presentation and critical analysis. Students need not have a strong background in many of the topics covered. In fact, a major goal of the course is to broaden participants' interdisciplinary backgrounds. Students will have the opportunity to hear lectures from and to meet international experts in multiple aspects of Developmental Physiology: Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, Pregnancy & Birth, Developmental Neurobiology, Cardiovascular Development, Pulmonary Development, and Developmental Origins of Health & Disease. This course involves 6 weeks of seminars in Toronto, followed by travel to Stockholm, Sweden, for a 5-day scientific exchange with trainees and faculty from the Karolinska Institute. Admission to the course is by application and approval by a review committee.
