Generative AI (GenAI) — primarily comprising Large Language Models and Large Language Agents — has come through three generations of technological progress during the course of 24 months. Some hype surrounding GenAI has been hyperbolic and unrealistic. But the technology — accessed and deployed via platforms such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini and Meta’s Llama3 — has already had significant impact in both business and academic environments (see, for instance, Mollick, 2024; Moldoveanu, 2024; Kosslyn, 2024). By now, there is a well-defined 'GenAI skill set' employers are looking for, and forward-looking academic institutions are seeking to build into their curricula [Zamfirescu Perreira et al, 2023; Tankelevich et al, 2024; Moldoveanu and Siemens, 2025; Moldoveanu and Nohria, 2024]. The right stance is not 'what AI can do,' but rather 'what I can do with AI.' This course is meant to help students develop that skill set and stance.
