CTL1626H: Holistic Approaches to Information Technology

Students in this course will examine the intersection between the arts and technology within a broader, ethical framework of responsibility toward people in society. The humanities play a pivotal role in a world dominated by artificial intelligence and automation. The study of philosophy, history, language arts (reading, writing, poetry), the performing arts (theatre, music, dance), and the visual arts (painting, sculpture, photography, film-making) offer a conduit through which to investigate and understand problems central to the human condition.

The interconnected ecosystem of such work is crucial to solving significant challenges in the world today. Course content will utilize holistic, arts-based approaches to digital technology, with a view to promoting emotional and psychological health and well-being.
