A study of selected problems central to medieval psychology and philosophy of mind. Possible topics to be considered include the nature of perception, the intellect, concepts and mental representations, and accounts of the soul and its powers. Readings will be chosen from a variety of Latin and Arabic authors, such as Augustine, Avicenna, Averroes, Thomas Aquinas, Henry of Ghent, John Duns Scotus, William of Ockham and others.
