PHL2055H: Eighteenth-Century European Philosophy

An examination of a theme or themes in 18th-century European philosophy. Possible philosophers covered range from canonical figures such as Leibniz, Locke, Berkeley, Hume, Smith, and Kant to less commonly studied figures such as Emilie du Chatelet or Anton Wilhelm Amo. Typically does not assume prior background in the area. Further details on topics selected for the current year are available on the Department of Philosophy's website.
