This course examines the development, organization, and social dynamics of cities through foundational and contemporary sociological theories. Students will study key processes such as urbanization, neighbourhood change, social stratification, and the formation of urban communities. The course emphasizes sociological explanations of how urban environments shape—and are shaped by—patterns of social life.
