This quarter course builds on foundational principles introduced in PHM2111H related to pharmacy dispensing data, prescribing data, drug utilization, and time series analyses. The focus of this follow-on course is to introduce principles of causal inference and traditional study designs to estimate the real-world drug safety and effectiveness of prescription medications. Experience will be gained through practice exercises and assignments, class discussions, small group exercises, presentations, and quizzes.
