This course integrates the newest findings and experimental approaches from cellular and molecular biology into metabolic function at the tissue, organ, and whole-body level. The classes aim to integrate the fundamentals of fuel and energy metabolism and its endocrine regulation into a whole-body perspective and to grasp the current concepts in obesity and diabetes research. Students will be taught to form hypotheses and design experimental approaches to address specific questions in the area of metabolism, and to read and write a scientific paper.
