CTL1124H: Life Writing Research (RM)

Life writing research projects have become an important part of qualitative research methods in recent years because researchers have come to understand people's individual life stories have something important to say about the world in which we live, teach, and learn.

This interdisciplinary research course will introduce students to a variety of life writing research methods including biography, autobiography, autoethnography, and oral and life history. It will provide students with the research skills to carry out a life writing project from beginning to end. Skill building activities will include choosing a topic or subject, examining lives as living data, understanding the role of documents and artifacts, and learning to tell a story.
