This course examines key concepts, approaches, and considerations in the development, evaluation, and implementation of rehabilitation and assistive technologies from a transdisciplinary perspective. Foundational topics covered include design practices, models, and theories in research, development, and translation of technologies into practice for people with diverse abilities, care partners, and clinicians, and the ethical considerations of technology application (e.g., equity of access, diversity-related concerns, policy implications). The course will involve interactive presentations by the course instructor and guest speakers and student-led discussions and presentations.
